This is the final version of Mac OS X which can support the PowerPC structure as snow leopard function only on Intel-based Macs. The latest released is 10.5.8 (Build 9L31a) on August 13, 2009. Its kernel type is hybrid (XNU). This version is preceded by Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and succeeded by Mac OS X snow leopard. It is the first operating system that has open-source BSD to be certified as fully UNIX cooperative.

Snow leopard comes with no option other than upgrade, but with few extra steps, we can perform erase and install. The ISO file is available at the Apple official website and also on apple store. For installation, there are some system requirements like

akhilcraj90, if you try to use iboot with the bootflags -v and -x it might work. if you have a snow leopard disk and a burnable disk for the iboot you can install os x. with my build it is a dell inspiron N5010 and can install mac just fine, but it cannot update to 10.6.8 from 10.6.3. if you want a disk image for snow leopard and you have a mac i could give you a dmg image for Snow leopard. or you could get it from apple.com. but ONLY get snow leopard, its the only PHISICAL DISK.

If anyone wants to contact me sooner i check my Email account often so contact me at 2001thkopr@gmail.com if you want any help or support or especially the dmg for snow leopard you can contact me there!!!

As one of the previous posters said how many intel Macs actually have Tiger on them? Of course the follow up question is how small does a percentage have to be before it is classed as safe to "prune"?

I have a few older machines (a G5 imac etc) which can't run CrossOver but they are running leopard. I have a really old ibook which is running 10.3.9 but again it can't run CrossOver either. You have a stable release which is an option for the Tiger holdouts. Leave it available to them if need be and drop development support for Tiger in future versions. I would like to see a future version that uses the full 64-bit power of Snow Leopard.

Considering that there is no difference between the 30 dollar upgrade release (that anyone can buy, regardless of owning leopard or not) and the full 120 dollar retail of snow leopard, its hard to justify why anyone should be using Tiger anymore unless they are on a PPC machine, in which case they should probably consider upgrading to a new machine.

As far as I'm concerned, all intel Mac's support Leopard, or even Snow Leopard for that matter. They can upgrade if they want, or just stick to the last version of Crossover made for Tiger. Their choice. They shouldn't be holding back the rest of us.

Ok here my mac (well both of them) are running snow leopard. I know of the advances snow leopard brings because I myself write games, software, and in general program. I mean this is what you should do.

C: Develop a strain of Crossover Games and Crossover for each OS (Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard) so that it cranks out the most of Crossover GAmes fro each platform plus makes crossover games smaller (No PowerPC Stuff in Snow Leopard Version, snow leopard optimizations in snow leopard version, same for leopard and tiger) 2ff7e9595c
